What Christmas Is All About

Okay, I have to admit I had a bit of a meltdown on my last post. This afternoon I watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and How the Grinch Stole Christmas with my kids and then I read the Christmas message from President Monson in the Ensign. And I'm happy to say I'm feeling much better. Christmas is a nice time of year. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's my favorite time of year, but it is nice. Linus said it best, don't ya think? And so did Dr. Suess ... "And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled 'till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before. What if Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?"... And President Monson said, "To catch the real meaning of the “spirit of Christmas,” we need only drop the last syllable, and it becomes the “Spirit of Christ.”" I Thought that was really beautiful. In the coming weeks as we hustle and bustle around may we grab a moment here and there to follow the example of our beloved Saviour and remember what the holiday season is truly about.

You always have loved Charlie Brown! Every time I see Snoopy or Charlie Brown I think of you! Great post. I agree Christmas is a little bit more than all the hustle and bustle. Thanks for the spiritual message!

Love your "Give"---Little Stream. Where did you get that? Very cute. It seems like every year I try and try to get the real meaning of Christmas so that I can somehow hang it on my tree or wrap it and put it out for my children. It is hard to know how to do it. Have you read the article in the ensign about the family that was living in a tent by the lake? Very thought provoking for me. You are awesome!
Love,
Kim

Em, It's really sad. He was so dirty from all those years of being dragged around that one year I finally tried to wash him and he totally desiningrated in the washing machine. It was very upsetting. Ask my kids about it. Hyrum and Kaylie remember.

We watched that at school. I loved it and it kind of calmed down the whole room.
