Kiss'n Cousins

I just love this picture... Adorable! Ethan loved spending time with his cousin Margaret. They got to be really good friends this summer. I'm just wishing that their visits weren't so few and far between.

Happy Birthday To Ethan Thomas

Four years ago today our Ethan came into the world. He must have been in a little bit of a hurry to get here because he showed up 3 weeks early. We weren't expecting him quite so soon and I wasn't prepared that warm, summer morning when I climbed out of bed and my water broke. Mark had just left for Salt Lake, and here's the kicker...he'd forgotten his cell phone. I had no way of getting in touch with him to let him know that Ethan was on his way, NOW! Good news is...my parents tracked him down pretty quickly and sent him back to Tooele. Oh, the drama! And here's the irony, he made it back in plenty of time for the big arrival. In fact, I think Ethan must like games because it turned out to be one of my longest labors and Mark could have taken all the time he wanted in getting us to the hospital. Finally at about 6:30 that night I was like, "Okay. Enough messing around. Bring on the pitocin!" Ethan was born about an hour and a half later, and he was perfect!
There is something unique and special about Ethan. We call him our little miracle baby. Before Ethan came along we had been praying for another little one to join our family for quite some time. While waiting for Ethan, we lost 3 other babies. It was a very sad and difficult time. I was just starting to accept the fact that we probably weren't meant to have any more children, when Ethan stuck around long enough to be born. Mark and I say that we "prayed him here" literally. He was very much planned for and wanted. Ethan was my "healing baby". When the doctor placed him in my arms, I wasn't just holding Ethan. I was holding Ethan, and all three of my little ones whom I'd lost but never had the oppurtunity to hold. It was very healing to my soul. Ethan mended my aching arms. I am so very thankful that Heavenly Father sent us our sweet Ethan.
Happy Birthday Little Guy! We love you!!
